Vision boards are a popular way to clarify goals and dreams, giving us a tangible reminder of what we hope to achieve. But for Christians, they can sometimes fall short. Why? Because too often, we focus on our vision instead of God's.
The Bible reminds us in Habakkuk 2:2, “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” While this verse emphasizes clarity, it’s crucial to remember the context: the vision comes from God, not from us. Habakkuk wasn’t crafting a personal wish list—he was recording a divine revelation.
When we create vision boards without seeking God’s guidance, we risk centering our plans on our desires rather than His will. Proverbs 19:21 echoes this truth: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” If your vision board hasn’t led to fulfillment, ask yourself: Is this God’s vision or mine? Have I prayed and asked Him to reveal His purpose for my life?
The key is surrender. Instead of crafting a vision board rooted in personal ambition, start by spending time in prayer and scripture. Seek God’s direction. Write down the promises and purposes He speaks to your heart. Then, create a vision board that reflects His plans, not yours.
